Dahlia's and Daffodils

I knit this custom skirty using Zenstring Bliss Aran in the Dahlia Colorway. The undersoaker was knit using Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in the Daffodil color, and some trim was done using the Snickerdoodle colorway.


The ruffle is a belle ruffle from Nicky Epstein's "Knitting on the Edge." It's a pretty fun ruffle to work, but I always forget that a round takes longer when you tripple the amount of stitches on your needles! LOL!





Anyhow, I've had a lot of Zenstring love lately, and this was no different that the other projects. Fabulous yarn. Angelina is a true artist and that certainly helps me, the knitter, out immensely!

Chocolate Cherise on Zenstring Bliss Aran

These were a super fun pair of custom shorties! The momma has been great to work with. She also has the Dahlia skirty in the works for her.

I knit these with FABULOUSLY silky and soft Aran BFL. Zenstring's Bliss Aran in the Chocolate Cherise colorway. I trimmed them with Brown Lion Wool, and added a lace crochet cuff.

I can't wait to hear that they're covering up a sweet little girls bum!

Selah Hippocrates Butterfly Set - Medium/2T

This set will be going up for sale on my Hyena Cart as soon as I can get back on. The shirt is a size 2T Rabbit Skin T-shirt hand painted by Tree Town Batiks. The fit of the Rabbit Skin Tees run small to true to size depending on who you talk to. I prefere a looser fit to my girls clothes, so I would say it will fit more like a 12-18 month tee, but other momma's would say that it fits exactly as a 2T shirt should.


The shorties are a size Medium knit by me using Corriedale Worsted Weight Yarn that was handpainted by Selah in their Hippocrates colorway, as part of their Butterfly series. These were a lot of fun to make up. Corriedale has such a nice cottony feel to it!


I added lots of short rows and a nice crotch gusset so these shorties will fit perfectly over those fluffly cloth diaper bums. I also added a cute little ruffle to the cuff.



The measurements are:

Waist: 13-23"

Hip: 20"

Rise: 17 1/2"

Thigh: 10-14+"

Inseam: 1 1/4"

Naiad on Zenstring Nirvana Worsted

These shorties were knit with Zenstring Nirvana Worsted in the Naiad colorway. The yarn was heavenly to work with and I LOVE how the colorway turned out. The little flecks of yellow/green reminded me of fireflys in the night's sky.



I got to knit these as the firt custom slot purchased off of my Hyena Cart after I was officially open. And, the momma who snagged the spot is also an IRL friend of mine, so that made the project even more special!

WWBN Emily on Big Blue BFL

OK, so this is a side loading soaker that I knit for Jackie using Big Blue BFL from WWBN in their Emily colorway. It was yummy to work with, and a bulky weight, so a quick knit.



Jackie got this soaker because I needed to test a new soaker "pattern" before using it as an undersoaker for a customer's custom skirty. I was pretty excited with how it turned out. Jackie wears it quite a bit, and it had it's first shave a day or 2 ago.

Mateo Zentring Nirvana Worsted - Heaven to my fingertips

My friend Sara had me work this yarn of hers up for her son Phin. I'd not yet had a chance to work with any of my Nirvana yarn yet, so was unaware of how FABULOUS it is! I had a good idea, but had no personal experience to back up my hunch! Well, the yarn was HEAVEN!!! SO SO SOFT, and just WONDERFUL!

I love how the colorway worked up too. Like a technicolor camo! Everyone will see Phin coming in these! The yellow/green shades really POP right out of the yarn!

I will be working up a knit custom with this yarn in a different color out of my stast this week! I'm so happy that my fingers will get another treat! I'm also working on a pair of Bliss Aran shorties this week. And a Bliss Aran skirty. I will truly have a wonderful week or 2 of knitting these things.

ZENSTRING ROCKS!

Grass Roots Peace Fleece Shorties

I belly-ached all the way when crocheting these shorties. Some Peace Fleece is just harder to crochet with, and this was one of those colors. I kept my eye on the prize though, and was VERY happy with the finished product! I trimmed them with Rain WOTA from Knit Picks, and I think the trim color suited the yarn beautifully!




These will mail out tomorrow, and I really hope that they are perfect for the little man they are intended for. I can't wait to find out.

Water Ice shorties

Well, once again, I've been somewhat of a busy girl! This will be 1 of 3 or 4 posts today.

These shorties are a custom I worked up for the momma who I did one of my very first customs for... actually in a SWAP, not even a purchase... and right as I was setting up my blog.

The shorts are crocheted using 3-ply farm yarn from Little Turtle Knits in the Water Ice colorway. The yarn is nice and spongy, springy, and pretty soft. It reminds me of Blackberry Ridge. I was nervous at first that maybe I didn't like how the colorway was working up, but by the time the shorties were finished and trim added, it all worked out, and I was happy with them. I hope the momma likes them.
