Wow!!!! Smaller Needles are BETTER!!! And, I've got some stripes goin' on!

WOW! I just finished up this custom pair of black longies for a PinMomma, and I'm in LOVE! I used size 6 needles instead of size 7 needles, and I can't believe what a difference it makes in the fabric that's created. I've always been happy with my results on size 7, but these smaller stitches are just MARVELOUS! They're so much crisper and seem more professional. I really hope the mom that ordered them likes them too! I made them with Black Paton's Classic Merino Wool, and have created a pink and black drawstring for them. The pink for her little girl now, and black in case she has another babe in the future and it's a boy. She was wanting GN, but thought that my idea of 2 drawstrings to give her "options" sounded kind of fun!

Now, off to work on the first of 2 pair of crocheted longies for another PinMomma. She's given me her yarn to work up. The first pair is Sage and Fisherman Lion Brand 100% Wool. I'm liking the look of the chunky stripes so far, and can't wait to see the finished product!

After they are done, there will be an Orange pair to work up, and I've also got a couple of personal projects still needing my attention. A hat for a friend, some longies/capris/shorties for the girls, Ella's Chocolate Raspberry Cardigan, and a Buttonhole bag and Knitting Basket for me. Oh, and I got some Misty Alpaca Worsted at my LYS a couple of weeks ago for some gauntlets for me, but I know think I'm going to do a dropstitch scarf instead.

So many fun projects, so little time!!!!!!!

Newborn Fluff is Fun!

OK, so this soaker sac was so nice to knit! I forget how quickly newborn stuff works out... plus it is just SO STINKIN' CUTE!!! And, this sac is so squishy and soft, I LOVE it! I made it using Knit Picks Merino Style in the Butternut and Harvest Colors. I have a girlfriend due in August who is not finding out the sex of her babe, and I though Orange and Yellow would make a nice, cheery, gender-neutral garment for her. I'm going to wash in the morning and hopefully mail out to her by Friday. The last time I talked to her a week or so ago, she was still miserable with m/s, so I hope this fun surprise in the mail will help cheer her up (not that she's down... as she is a very positive person, but m/s SUCKS no matter how upbeat you are!) Unfortunately, it probably won't make the m/s go away, but at least it might give her a smile!

2 Pair of Longies - Bold and Bright for Maria

I think these have been some of my favorite longies to create since I started crocheting/knitting. They're for a Pin Momma's daughter, Maria. The colors are so fitting for Maria, and I'm just so hoping her momma loves 'em!

Using Cece's Lion Brand's 100% Wool, and made to a medium size, both pair took a little over 2 skeins. That's where the cream colored trim comes in. Hopefully, they'll fit her still next winter so I can add an inch or 2 of trim on the legs too, so the inseam will be right in a year too!

The purple pair will be very snug to fit, and the pink pair a little "baggier," meaning won't have to use the stretch of the wool as much. Maria actually had a "fitting" for the purple pair last week to check the rise. That's when it was decided a little cream needed to be added to the rise. It was pretty cool! Then, we decided some scalloping would look nice!

Peace Fleece longies

Well... Jackie has decided to be social at 1 am... well, now 1:38 am... so I thought I'd throw some pictures up of some completed longies that I made for a pin momma!

I'm too tired to say much about them except for that I really enjoyed making 'em!

Magic-Looping 2 legs at once

OK, so I'm working on this pair of longies for a pinmomma, and decided instead of 2 legs on 2 circulars to do 2 legs by Magic-looping. When I started the pants, I only had 1 set of size 7 needle tips available... so I decided to ML instead of do 2 circs with my Options needles.

Anyhow, I just split for the legs earlier today, and am now a couple of inches into them. The pics I took were after only a couple of rows.

Have to say, I like ML-ing 2 legs at once just as much as I liked doing 2 legs at once on 2 circulars.

I'm hoping to finish these longies as well as some crocheted longies I'm working on over the weekend, so I can work on a pair for Ella and Jackie, as well as finish the hat for my friend and maybe finish a felted basket I'm working on next week. We'll see........
